Emily’s expertise covers a wide range of services including sales & purchases, remortgages, transfer of equity, new build properties and right to buy. Emily likes to ensure that clients feel at ease to ask anything they like about the buying and selling process and she prefers to cut through the legal jargon and deliver information in a clear and simple way so that clients are reassured of what is happening every step of the way.

Career Highlights

  • Due to limited training contract opportunities Emily joined Nelsons Solicitors on a temporary Marketing Assistant contract before being offered a role as a paralegal and then a training contract in 2011
  • Emily successfully completed her training contract and qualified as a solicitor in September 2013, qualifying into the Family department upon completion
  • After moving to another firm in Leicester Emily decided to make the move across into the conveyancing department in 2015 where she worked on a variety of residential matters as well as developing a specialism in new-build property purchases; during this time she was also promoted to Associate Solicitor in 2016
  • Emily joined Rothera Bray in 2017 as an Associate Solicitor
  • Emily was promoted to Senior Associate Solicitor in June 2021

Care Quality Commission Maternity Survey

The Care Quality Commission (“CQC”) have released the results into a survey they conducted relating to the experience of women and other pregnant people who had a live birth in early 2023. The survey had national reach and responses were received from over 25,000, a response rate of 41%.

Animal penalty notices act

New penalty notices introduced for animal health and welfare offences

The Animals (Penalty Notices) Act 2022 is a new piece of secondary legislation which came into force from 1 January 2024. The act was passed following an 8 week consultation with various different parties with interest in animal welfare such as veterinarians, the National Farmers Union, the British Veterinary Association and the RSPCA.
